Leaving Livermore

Well, it’s a little sad but the plan is to hit the road again today.  The camper should be ready for pickup around noon and we will head north through Napa.  The dogs and I have really enjoyed our break from traveling: cool carpeted floors to nap on in the afternoon, meals in a real kitchen, conversation when our friends come home from work, feeding the tortoise when he gets up from his nap…

Tom the Tortoise

For half the year, he sleeps in a box in the garage and in warmer months he inhabits the backyard.  Since we have been here he has been hiding in a big rosemary bush, and because Lucy constantly checks on him she smells like rosemary.  Yesterday afternoon he came out looking for some food, sampling the plums but really wanting green beans.

  1. I am really really enjoying your blog. It would be more fun to be with you (at least in certain stops) but am enjoying your writing so much. Still miss you though.
    love,
    dad
